About the Ombudsperson
Prof. Hanumanthu Lajipathi Rai is an academician, economist and higher-education administrator who has held senior academic and public-service responsibilities in Andhra Pradesh. His career includes university leadership, teaching, research and initiatives supporting students and the wider community.
Academic and Administrative Experience
He served as Professor of Commerce at Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, and as Vice-Chancellor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam. Following his vice-chancellorship, he returned to Sri Krishnadevaraya University and served as Rector.
His public-service roles have included Special Officer for the Andhra Pradesh Central Tribal University and Founder-Director of the AP Study Circle for BC Welfare, which supported candidates preparing for civil-services examinations.
Research and Public Contributions
His academic work includes publications and research relating to areas such as consumer protection, tourism and international trade. He has also been associated with cultural initiatives and regional development activities.
